Must be willing to take a pre-employment physical exam including physical agility testing and drug screening.

Must be willing to be given a series of Hepatitis B shots.

Must be willing to submit to pre-employment background checks.

Must obtain a State of Michigan Firefighter Level 1 & 2 certification within 24 months of being put on the department. This is a state requirement.

Must obtain a State of Michigan Medical First Responder certificate in order to run medical calls and have patient contact.

Must attend all scheduled LMR training sessions and drills. Usually one per month or as scheduled.

Must be willing to attend special training offered outside of the department, when available to enhance training levels.

Must make a minimum of 20% of all calls.

Must adhere to all written rules, regulations and by-laws as set forth by the LMR Fire Department, the LMR Executive Fire Board, the State of Michigan and the LMR Firefighter's Association.

Must be willing to assist and participate in LMR functions outside of firefighting duties.

Must live within 1(one) driving mile from the LMR service area.
